Matchroom Multi Sport today announces that BetVictor, a leading online gambling company, will be the title sponsor of the 2020 Weber Cup, which will take place at Morningside Arena, Leicester from 5th to 7th June, 2020.
The BetVictor Weber Cup, tenpin bowling’s answer to golf’s Ryder Cup, will see the leading players from Europe and the USA compete over three days in a series of singles, doubles and baker format matches.
Earlier this year, led by captain Chris Barnes, USA defeated Europe 18-14 in Las Vegas defending the title back from Europe in 2018. In 2020, Barnes will captain USA again with Dominic Barrett leading the European side for a sixth time.
Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn said: “We are delighted to welcome BetVictor as the title sponsor of next year’s Weber Cup. We have a great relationship with BetVictor across the Matchroom group and we are excited to extend our partnership to the biggest event in tenpin.”
“The BetVictor Weber Cup is a highlight of the bowling calendar. Big crowds, the best players and the high stakes of representing your continent ensure we see unrivalled drama on the famous Weber Cup lane every year, and 2020 in Leicester will be no different” added Barry.
BetVictor Director of Sportsbook Matt Scarrott said: “Our partnership with Matchroom covers a number of sports and we’re very pleased to add tenpin to the mix by sponsoring the Weber Cup for the first time ever. We’re excited to be strengthening our relationship with Matchroom group and to tap into the sports’ growing fanbase.”
The BetVictor Weber Cup will be staged over five sessions from June 5-7 and is broadcast live on Sky Sports, DAZN and networks around the world. Full ticket sales details will be announced shortly.
